Cinnamon chicken is a simple yet delicious recipe that can jazz up a weeknight dinner and is tasty enough to serve to guests. The chicken thighs are baked to perfection in a rich, savory blend of seasonings, creating ultra-tender pieces of moist and delicious chicken.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb Chicken thighs about 2lb
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ Tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400F / 200C, spray the oven safe dish lightly with oil
  • Prep the chicken: Remove any unwanted fat and excess skin from the chicken thigsh and transfer to a Ziploc bag.
  • Season with salt and pepper, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, Italian seasoning,onion powder, garlic powder, Drizzle with olive oil and lemon. Seal the ziploc bag then massage the seasoning into the chicken thighs making sure the chicken is well coated.
  • Marinate the chicken for at least 15 minutes or up to 24 hours if time is not of essence.
  • Transfer the chicken thighs to the prepared baking dish and arrange in a single layer skin side down.
  • Bake in the preheated oven flipping halfway through for 35-40 minutes depending on the size or until the internal temperature registers 165F when checked with a meat thermometer.
  • Remove the chicken from oven and serve warm.

Air fryer cinnamon chicken instructions

  • Prpeheat the air fryer to 390F /190C
  • Follow the instructions above to season and marinate the chicken
  • Spray the air fryer basket lightly with an oil spray.
  • Arrange the chicken thighs skin side down in the air fryer basket and air fry for 25-30 minutes depepnding on the size of the chicken
  • Flip the chicken thighs halfway through and continue to cook until the skin is crispy or the internal temperature reads 165F / 73C.
