    Stuffed Celery Sticks

    These healthy and delicious stuffed celery sticks are the perfect appetizer for any occasion. It is easy, simple and quick to make. Made with only 6 ingredients, these gourmets stuffed celery are gluten-free, low carb, more importantly DELICIOUS!

    Easy stuffed celery recipe

    Whether you are looking for in between meals or entertaining guest, these celery bites are perfect for such. This will surely convert celery snub, they are outrageously good and delicious. Take a platter of this to the next potluck, picnic, graduation parties, home parties and get together and watch it fly off the plate in no time.

    Celery is healthy and you can enjoy the benefits of the vegetable whilst enjoying it with friends and families especially children. Make them eat vegetables without worries.  If you are looking to serve a keto-friendly, low carb option as an appetizer, then this is one of the best options for you.

    Ingredients you will need

    Celery sticks

    Full fat cream cheese

    Greek yogurt

    Cooked bacon

    Smoked paprika

    Chopped fresh chives

    Salt and black pepper to taste

    Variations

    Want it spicy: add freshly chopped jalapeno to the stuffing

    Cheesy: add Pecorino cheese, parmesan, cheddar cheese or any other preferred shredded cheese to the mix

    Nutty: add peanut butter, almond butter or any other nut of choice to the mix. You can also add chopped pecan or almond flakes.

    How to make the best-stuffed celery stick ever

    Cut the celery into manageable bite sizes. Each stalk should be enough for at least two bites. Wash and pat them dry or leave to air dry. In order to make the celery flat on the plate, turn the curved end of the celery towards you and slice off about two striplines thinly.

    In the meantime, make the stuffing. To a bowl, add cream cheese, chopped chives, Greek yogurt, crumbled bacon, smoked paprika, salt and pepper. Mix until well combined. Transfer the stuffing to a piping bag or a Ziploc bag at an angle.

    Snip off the end of the piping bag with scissors. Carefully pipe the stuffing into the celery sticks.

    Arrange the stuffed celery unto a plate and serve.

    Storing

    It is best to make the stuffing just before serving for optimum freshness but I know this is not always possible. The cream cheese stuffing can be made a day ahead. Store in the fridge in an airtight container.

    The stuffed celery can be easily transported too. Arrange them in shallow tray and cover with a cling film. Ensure you store it in the fridge if it is not going to be used immediately.

    Tips

    • Save yourself some time from chopping and cleaning celery stalks by buying pre-cut celery sticks from the shops.
    • Customise the filling to taste. it is easily adaptable especially if you are serving guest that does not consume pork. The bacon can be swapped for shredded chicken. I love chicken buffalo dip with celery sticks. You should give it a try too.
    • Swap the full-fat cream cheese for low-fat version or mix the full-fat cream cheese with some sour cream. Just be mindful so that it doesn’t become runny. The filly should be fluffy yet stable to hold its shape on the celery.
    • Leave out the bacon or other protein choice to make this recipe vegetarian. To make it vegan, simply use vegan cream cheese or other types of cheese available to you.
    • Use the cream cheese stuffing as a dipping source for other crudites such as mixed pepper, carrots, cucumber, asparagus, radishes and the likes.
